Indonesia is a key player in keeping the global ocean economy thriving. We are the world’s largest archipelagic nation, and our waters possess the world’s richest marine biodiversity
The fisheries industry employs about 12 million Indonesians. Unfortunately, the majority of Indonesia’s fisheries are over-exploited or fully-exploited, and illegal fishing practices are common.
We need to find a balance between keeping up with production and safeguarding our oceans for everyone's needs. We believe most consumers want to buy sustainable caught seafood, but don’t know the right questions to ask.
We imagine a world where people know exactly where their seafood comes from, how it's caught, and who's involved. It's a world of conscious consumers, embracing the stories behind each catch.
Our mission is to improve market access of Indonesian handline caught tuna, and making sustainable seafood easy to find and understand. We want to bring artisanal fishing communities in Eastern Indonesia to international recognition, and making sure their rights and needs are considered in international fisheries management decision-making. By offering seafood that's responsibly sourced and transparently tracked, we're not just selling fish; we're building a community that cares about our oceans and the people who depend on them
